Underground Storage Tanks Designated Operator Exams

Important Announcement

Recently EPA learned that many training courses on NETI’s Learning Management System, including the Underground Storage Tanks Designated Operator Exams, were blocked and cannot be viewed.  This is due to a recent upgrade to the Adobe Connect LMS that included improved security protocols.  NETI has been diligently working with EPA’s Office of Environmental Information and Adobe to resolve this issue.

As of July 24, 2018, we have a solution; however, it may take up to one week before the correction is implemented.  Please send your email address to Tim Smith at smith.timr@epa.gov, and he will notify you via email when the Underground Storage Tanks Designated Operator Exams are available again; please use UST Designated Operator Exam Availability On NETI as the subject line of your email.  We will also update our operator exam web page at https://www.epa.gov/ust/class-a-and-class-b-ust-operator with the status of availability.  We thank you for your patience with us as we resolve this issue.  And we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused.

These exams provide underground storage tank (UST) system owners and operators in Indian country with an option to meet the 2015 federal UST requirement that class A and B designated operators demonstrate knowledge and pass an exam.
These exams provide UST designated operators with two options: comprehensive exams for class A and class B operator requirements, covering 11 and 9 topics, respectively; and topic specific exams for class A and B operators to complete retraining on topics required due to non-compliance of an UST system, as determined by the implementing agency.
Exam takers who achieve a passing score of 80 percent or higher will be able to print a certificate of completion, which meets the operator training documentation required under 40 CFR, Subpart J.
You may retake the final examination an unlimited number of times in order to pass the examination. If you do not pass the exam, you will be provided information on how to find further study material to help you pass the exam.
The certificate will include your name, as well as date and type of exam taken. The topic exam certificate will list the topics taken.
